The Greener Side of Anonymity

     When it comes to online anonymity, many people are for it as well as against it.  As for myself, I believe anonymity is a good thing.  Many changes and revolutions began with leaders deciding to become anonymous so that the government or the system they're fighting against wont be able to do anything until the leader's identity is discovered.  For example, there is an infamous hacker group known as Anonymous.  They fight against secret cyber surveillance with the intent of providing a freedom of privacy.  Currently, they have been fighting back against a terrorist group that has been growing rather rapidly.  The government tends to see them as a threat to the system but how bad can they be if they are fighting with the safety of our citizens in mind?  Not all anonymous people are bad; however, that does not mean that there are not any bad ones out there.  We should try to step away profiling the majority simply because of the ill intent of a small minority.  When it comes to these people, I believe they are not worth the time to fight and should be ignored until the issue is much more serious like the event of a death threats but by the time it comes to that, either the social platform or law enforcement should step in and protect you.  Unfortunately in today's society, they rarely ever do.
