The California Drought

My research topic is about the California Drought and how it will food supply in the United States. Many people ask is farming is worth the 80% of California's water. The answer is yes, California is the #1 food supplier of the United States. This drought is also costing California costing a lot of water. The drought is making prices of food go up and decreasing farming land. This year is an El Nino year and we know it will not completely end the drought but it will help California and its farmers. Most of the farmers are relying on ground water. The only farmers that are doing okay during the drought are coastal farmers.

  1. It's sort of crazy how not a lot of people think of the factors that go into the food making process. It takes a lot of the earth's natural resources. Electricity, gas, and especially water. Also its incredible that California is the #1 food supplier when we have the biggest drought.
