GMO Foods

My research paper is focused on genetically modified foods. Are they actually bad for us? Do they benefit us? Well, that's what I'm finding out. From what I've been reading online, there are both beneficial and harmful aspects to genetically modified foods. A benefit is that they genetically modify crops in order to create a mass production of food in a short period of time. This helps produce more food quicker. Another benefit is the fact that it is used for pest resistance. Although this stuff is true, there are also very harmful things that come along with genetically modifying food. The spray that companies use in order to get rid of pests can be harmful to the environment or the consumers who end up eating that food. Not only that, but it can actually create more pests which leads to the necessity of spraying more chemicals in order to kill those pesticides. This is unhealthy for the consumer and can start many health concerns. I think that in the future we should start leading more towards all natural foods and start getting away from anything genetically modified for environmental and human health purposes.
