Wave 1: The Gethenians

Gethenians way of life are somewhat different from Ai's. Gethenians have no gender, therefore; they can't be classified as male or female. Generally males and females have this nature to them that separate them more than just from a gender. For example men tend to have deeper voices along with broad shoulders and a muscular build to them. Females have typically a lean body with higher pitched voices and softer tone at times. This generally can separate men and women by itself. But due to Gethenians having no gender it is hard for Ai to classify them. No matter who you talk to they are neither a male or female. Not knowing simple knowledge such as that i feel would be somewhat discomforting. Genthenians are very use to this lifestyle and due to their way of life somethings are interpreted differently through them than they would through Ai's world. One example would be how siblings can mate together once. In Ai's world a rule of that sort is sure not to exist. The different lifestyle has thrown Ai's for a loop. Adapting to the situation will take time due to his lack of understanding but change can always be adapted to. It's strange for one to also be able to be both genders. Growing up Ai knew what it was like to be a boy, that was his whole life, through knowing the nature of gethenians it was surely to arise questions in his head. Who knows if being a certain gender can effect your thinking.
